This is my second Dodge Intrepid. My first was a 1997. Has some major brake problems with the first. Rear wheel would lock up going down the freeway, had to take it to the junk yard, not worth fixing. Both Intrepid check engine light are ALWAYS ON. My current dodge intrepid had a transmission leak so I had the lines replaced, cost $250.00. Now, I start the car, start to drive down the road and at 40 mph it will be at 3rpms. Can't go fast than that. At each stop light I turn off the car and restart. Usually at about the third or fourth restart it will work properly. I can be sitting at a light with my foot on the brake and the car will try to jump forward. I was driving down the road a couple of days ago at 45 mph when the transmission went completely out of drive, like it was in neutral, I tried shifting (this is an automatic) into 3 or Low but there was nothing, I had a bunch of cars behind me so I was just about the pull over when the car slammed into drive out of nowhere but it was the 40 mph at 3000rpms again. I waited until I got to the light, shut off the car and restarted. It worked fine for a few minutes before it started doing the same thing again. I am getting in the shop tomorrow, shop seems to think it's a sensor.
