Driver’s side rear door latch is stick in locked position. The rear door cannot be opened by the remote, inside door buttons or manually. In the event of a crash involving the passenger side door. Occupants are stuck in the rear.
Potentially dangerous situation.
This is the second failure of the same latch. It was replaced originally in Non 2017 under warranty at 25,500 miles.
Looking at other internet commentary, this is a known part failure and defect with potential to cause passenger harm.
I feel Chrysler / Dodge should issue a recall to replace defective parts, or at a minimum replace failed lock actuator mechanism under a special warranty.
