Driver side front window trim broke off while driving on Arkansas Interstate. Heard a loud bang/popping sound and thought something big had hit the side mirror. When arriving, found the applique trim molding had broken off its plastic holding piece and was completely gone. Put Gorilla tape over the two holes that were uncovered so that rain wouldn't get inside the door frame. Intended to get it replaced but hasn't been a priority as of yet. Our van was in pristine condition at the time, so not happy about losing a piece of it. More to the story in the next complaint.

The applique/molding on the window pillar passenger side fell off while my wife was driving. She heard a pop while she was driving and thought a rock had somehow hit the passenger side window. She took a look when she arrived at her destination and found the applique/molding had come off. I checked it when she got home and found the little 2 cent screw that holds this part on had failed and broken. The head of the screw is still in the door. I checked with the part guys at mu Dodge dealer (they were very nice and helpful) and found out the part is normally $107 plus the 2 cent screw (that falls apart) is $7. They offered the applique/molding to me for their cost of $72 plus tax. I've probably got a really good screw that won't break in my shop. It doesn't look difficult to put on. It sure was easy to come off. I'm checking to see if Dodge will help me out on this. I know this is not a really big problem, but nobody should expect parts to start flying off their vehicle at any point, not even at 94,000 miles. if this was a common problem it would make our freeways very dangerous. Here's the other strange thing. Our friend that has a Chrysler Grand Caravan, same year and about same miles, had the same part (but drivers side) come off while he was driving last week. I think Dodge potentially has a real problem that may just be starting to show up. Again, this may not sound like a serious problem compared to some, but parts should not just fly off your vehicle. If this is just the start, everyone should really be careful driving behind Dodge products. It could be really dangerous.
