Our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan that we bought brand new July 2012 in Ontario, Canada has been having what appears to be the Air Bag/ SRS warning light come on and off when driving. Sometimes it comes on and stays on for the duration of the time driving & sometimes it comes on and goes off constantly during the trip, or comes on for a short bit and then stays off. There is no rhyme or reason. According to what I've been able to tell the light means that if it was on, the air bags would not deploy (great).
I asked our dealer about it in Sept 2018 and they said they'd have to book it in to diagnose it. Which is probably $100+ an hour for nonsense.
I've read some people say the connections under the seat may be loose, and just need to be pressed together ....so I might try that. I am worried tho that the system may mess up and deploy the air bags when I see that light....because I know the TIPM in these cars are known to fail.
I hate this van - I wish we'd never bought it. 35,000km on it now as of October 2018 and as far as I'm concerned it's a piece of junk.
