A D V E R T I S E M E N T S
My husband was driving and as he accelerated from a stop light on to a 6 lane very busy street, the van kept accelerating on its own. He had to place the van in neutral and pull on to the side of the road as the rpm gauge was going crazy, like it did the first time this happened hitting a 6. He pulled over and shut the van off waited a couple minutes and started the van back up and drove the next 9 miles like it had never happened.
I called the dealership knowing that the shop was closed I wanted to at least speak to someone so I talked to the sales lady we purchased it from. Monday a service guy called and told me the soonest they could get my vehicle in would be on Friday!?!?!? I use this van on a daily basis during the school year to take 5 to 6 kids to and from school the whole week I drove them and picked them up I could not help but be afraid to think of what would happen if the van accelerated on its own while there were a group of kids crossing the street in front of me! My 7 year old practically refuses to ride with me if she don't have to go with me she won't or gets upset when she does for fear that we will be in an accident.
The dealership took it and ran diagnostics and of course no codes came up. The van acts as if you are hitting the resume button for the cruise control to get back to your set speed only it doesn't stop at a set speed it just keeps going. I contacted Chrysler about the issue. They arranged for me to have a rental vehicle while the dealership put 246 miles on my van and still called and told me that what I am telling them is not possible for it to happen. Well guess what, it does and has twice so far.
I bought the van brand new and I am the primary driver and my husband once in a while. We don't hot rod the engine (its a mini van for crying out loud) not to mention our kids are always with us and we just don't drive like that. Chrysler is telling me they have no clue what the problem is or even ever heard of such a thing. I am beginning to think that Chrysler just don't care about there product or their paying customers.
I love my vehicle and searched high and low till I found exactly what I wanted and this was it! I do not want a different vehicle I want this one and just want to feel safe when I am in it!
If anyone has an idea or a clue as to what it could be please help! thank you
