Chrysler is aware of the problem of having to replace TIPM modules in Jeeps and Grand Caravans. A class action lawsuit has already been filed. But that doesn't help my problem now. The part is on backorder across the United States. Everything I've read says it takes 3 or more months to get the part. I am in a power wheelchair, and have had my Grand Caravan converted and equipped with a wheelchair ramp, a kneeling system, a transfer chair for the driver's seat, and low effort steering. I now have to leave my van at the dealer's garage until this part is available. It is unsafe to drive in the condition it is in. This means that I cannot use my power wheelchair because I am unable to transport it. The dealership provides a loaner, but it will not transport my wheelchair. I have some mobility on my own, but I tire when walking even a block or so. I have no stamina when walking under my own steam. Grocery shopping is almost impossible. I work full time, so now I will have to get to and from work without my wheelchair. Why won't Chrysler do something about this, and help us all out with the cost? I've already had my van in the shop, and spent $600, but that didn't fix the problem. 6 days after getting it back from the shop, I had the same problem. They have now diagnosed the TIPM module as being the problem, and will charge me another $550 when they finally get the part.
