I've been waiting for the longest time, for the Dodge dealership to replace the part, or parts that the recall people, was recalling the vehicle for. But instead, they keep telling me that the part, or parts hasn't come in yet. I've been having on going problems since forever, with this vehicle dying out on me, and my family;__too many times. And not only that! but my money is very important to me too. And I don't like paying out my money;__towards anything, that has been a continuos problem for me, and my family. The vans engine shuts off whenever it wants. Driving down the road it just shuts down, all accessories continue to work such as fans radio etc. The steering locks up because the engine shuts down. As soon as I can stop I put it in park and turn the key. The car immediately starts and I continue to drive. There are no warning lights on and nothing flashes on the dash when it stalls. It just turns off as if I haven't turned the key all the way to run.

I was driving approximately 50 mph on a city street when my engine shut off. I lost all engine power; tank went to empty and it was incredibly hard to turn the steering wheel as well as brake. The best I could, I pulled over, put the van in park and restarted it. I drove home. I called the Dodge dealership and they said that since no dash lights came on, no codes would be stored, and to keep driving the vehicle until it happened again. I have an appointment scheduled with them for 11/19/15 (the soonest possible appointment.) I am uncertain if this is related; however, sometimes my "key" doesn't lock or unlock the van. In August, two times the van wouldn't start right away (2-3 tries) and on September 6, it didn't start after multiple tries. About an hour later, it started with a grinding sound, which sounded to be coming from the right passenger side of the dashboard. No dash lights. It has started fine since then.

My 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan stalls without warning while driving. The stalling has occurred four times and each time I was almost rear ended. The last time it stalled was October 6, 2015 and the first time spring 2011. The stalling has occurred two times on a city street, once on the highway and once on a highway off ramp. It occurs at any speed. When the engine stalls, the van loses the power steering and brakes. Once I can stop the van and put it in park or neutral, it has restarted. When I took the van to the dealer no codes could be read. The engine stalling has occurred prior to and after the replacement ignition parts were installed from the March 1, 2011 (NHTSA reference #11V139000) recall and the June 26, 2014 (#14V373000) recall. The engine stalling is a very dangerous situation because it occurs without warning. After reading online there are many people having this same problem, so please investigate.

Car stalls while I am driving it. Took it to car dealer and it doesn't pop up with codes, so they say they can't figure out what is wrong. Head over mechanics drove it and he was driving it at 30 miles an hour and it turned off and he said he almost wrecked my car. Mechanic also duplicated it, but no codes, so they are saying they don't know what to fix. It is the only transportation I have, but is very dangerous to drive as when it stalls I have no power steering or brakes. I am at my wits end, because I have tried to reach Chrysler itself and all I get is customer service and they have a case open, but getting no results. I also have clunking in my transmission, but again no codes. I am at my wits end and don't know where to go from here. I can't afford to keep putting money in this car and it not get fixed. I still owe 5 years on this car also. I have had people riding in the car with me when it has happened. I am going to put a date at this end here, but not sure of when it first started happening, but know that the transmission started happening last year and told them about it and they said that was natural for that type of engine, but they hadn't even drove it.

Transmission feels like it is going to come out of the front end of my car. It makes the car move forward when it does it. Notified dealer and they tried it, it did not do it for them, so they say they can not fix it. Tried it once. Under warranty, but no codes again.

The heater hose Y pipe is defective. It's made of plastic, and it lasted less than 5 years before it burst at the seams and sprayed coolant all over the engine compartment when my wife and four children were driving on the highway, leaving them stranded. There was absolutely no warning before it burst, and there is no maintenance that will prevent this from happening. The part is defective, and this is a common problem with these Dodge models. An internet search shows that this problem is happening everywhere.

On or about December 5th 2014, my wife attempted to start the above mentioned vehicle with no success. We had to have it towed from colonial beach, va to safford automotive in fredericksburg, va to be repaired. After diagnosing, the win module was found to be bad also both door modules flashed bad. Win module was replaced and two new key fobs had to be issued and programmed. Our cost was $906.65. This item was on the recall list but we were made to pay out of pocket. We have spoken to the dealer and the better business bureau but have not been successful. We feel it is unfair that we were made to pay for something that was recalled. This expense caused a significant hardship to our family. We hope you are able to help us get our money back. Thank you in advance for your help. We are in possession of both the recall notice as well as the original receipt.

I received a letter concerning recall R03/NHTSA 14V-373 in June of 2015. On Friday, July 31, we found that the van would not start, but when the key was turned a few times, it would. Thinking that this could possibly be related in some way to the recall, I carefully read the document that stated this could cause unintended engine shut off and increase the risk of a crash. The document said nothing about problems initially starting the van. On Tuesday, August 4, as the van would only intermittently start, I brought the van to a local repair shop. The local repair shop diagnosed the problem as a defective starter. After they installed the starter, they told me that they had then done some research and that there was a recall out for this problem. They still charged me $390. I dropped off the van this morning with three Chrysler key fobs, otherwise known as a frequency operated button ignition key or fobik, and an additional aftermarket key fob made by ilco, which performs the same functions as the oem key fobs do. The people at larchmont Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram stated that this recall only would replace oem Chrysler key fobs. 1)why does it take three months to set up a date for a safety recall? 2)why did the notice not mention anything about ignition problems but only unintended engine shutoff? the way this notice is written, most people would infer that the engine would already be on and one would be driving to experience this difficulty. 3)why, when a local van was brought to a local repair shop, didnt this diagnostic code immediately mention the recall and state that the recall part is the problem, not the $390 starter? 4)why, if a person has gone through the ridiculous expense and bother of getting four key fobs which all function, and that it is Chrysler fault entirely for the problem, cant an additional key fob be provided?

My wife started our van and it didn't start. She got it started and went a few miles down the road. After stopping at a stop sign she took off and was going approximately 35 mph when the vehicle abruptly stalled. She lost power steering and was able to get it stopped before going into the ditch. Had she been traveling faster she probably would have wrecked. She had my two year old with her and is currently 13 weeks pregnant.....updated 11/02/15 updated 1/4/2016 updated 11/22/2017

While driving my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, on numerous occasions, I have lost all power leading to the inability to steer. Last event, I was in a round about and, switching into neutral, was barely able to prevent a crash. I have nothing attached to my key fob. This is the known ignition problem and I find it unacceptable that Chrysler thinks it is ok to wait until August to fix this. This is extremely dangerous. I do not have the means to get a new vehicle and with 2 young children, this is extremely dangerous. Please force them to move faster to correct this problem!!
