I bought the van new in 2011. It's a left over 2010.
At 7000km, I had the rear brake pads and discs changed. This was done under warranty.
At 18000, I had the rear discs and pads changed, my pocket.
I then received a letter from Chrysler about the extended warranty for the FRONT set up. Good for another 2 years and up to 40000km.... Kooka la shitsa. Too late for me because at 26700 I had to change the front set up ! $565 Canadian ! I did not go at the dealer, they seem to use inferior products, service is more or less okay but it's less expensive at an independent.
As I keep my vehicles for a long time I searched to find if Brembo, Wilwood or others manufacture something to replace the OEM parts.....I'm willing to invest to eliminate this problem but......nada.....
I also replaced my dash with one with a tachometer and this gave me an added computer. I know when the brakes are acting up when I go over 10.5 liters per hundred km...at 11, the brakes are bad, when I didn't know better I reached 12.6 L per 100 ! The front brakes had pads that had pivoted and they were stuck and worn on the discs.
They advertise 8.4 per 100 for my model but that truly is wishful thinking. With new brakes front and rear I achieve, sometimes with the sun in the rear, and downhill 9 L per hundred.
Would I buy another one? Well, only if they fix this problem. The van is quite roomy, holds the road well and is comfy. The only other problem I had is the climate module that started smoking. The module is in the central console. Bought the part on ebay and installed it myself. I removed the middle heavy seat to economize and because I don't need it. I can't remove the rear hidden seats because that will leave me with a floor with a pit in the back.
