Second time the rear brakes got hot, so hot you can smell the brakes at a stop street. Rear left again. Last time was just after I bought the car (used) and I have done less that 16000km. Previously the agent repaired it for free. This time I had to pay. The pads needed to be replaced but the rotors could be skimmed. No one seems to think this is a defective design. Nothing was seized, I think it is the auto adjustment system on the rear. These disk brakes don't work the usual way where the slave plunger pushes out, they screw out. My work colleague had the same issue with his 2012 Grand Caravan bought new so I know it is a defective design. The brakes just wear down faster or overheat really badly.
My pads had to be replaced because they were "powdered" and disintegrating. How safe is that???
