Bought my 2009 Dodge Caravan used at the Chrysler of Culpeper 3 months ago. It had 48,000 miles on it when I bought it but I only put 1,500 in the 3 months I have owned it.
The air conditioning is working great in the front but in the rear is a whole different situation. Went to dealer and asked if they would look at the car to diagnose. Of course they will do it for 120. Which is crazy considering I just recently purchased it and barely used it. Then the guy told me it's probably something simple as being out of freon and they would add it to the car which is part of the 120 fee.
Now I know I am a woman but please, if it was out of freon then the front wouldn't be blowing out ice cold air. So not only were they not interested in diagnosing it for free considering I haven't had it for long - he also tried to play me like I am an idiot. Even said that it might not be working because I haven't driven it enough.
Needless to say I took it some where else to get a diagnosis. I am pretty sure it is the rear blower which it is crazy to have to replace in a car this soon. In the end the dealer was willing to not charge me the diagnosis fee unless they looked at it and I went somewhere else to have it repaired. But they talked to like I am an idiot and taking over an hour to agree to it. Probably only because I kept ranting about how I only had the car for 3 months and only put 1500 miles on it and these guys won't even just look at it without charging me. I did see potential customers listening intently.
So I am paying someone to look at it so I can get an honest diagnosis. These people know they can't talk crap to me just cause I am a woman.
