I found out about it when I went to the back of my car to get my groceries out and hit the remote on my key chain and the door opened with no problem but as i was reaching in to grab my groceries the door slammed down on my head....good times!!! Those back hatches are HEAVY!!! I had a nice bump for awhile and ever since have not been able to use it. I took it into the dealership where they had no sympathy of course and said it would cost around $150 to fix....ugh!!!! That shouldn't have failed with so few miles and it has been a royal pain to not have the use of a back hatch that stays open with 3 teenagers and a lot of stuff that goes back there.
