Now they won't come on when toggled. I drive a minivan for a reason. I have children. So therefore it is very dangerous when your lights don't work.
My 2005 Dodge Caravan's lights went off the other night when we were out on the dark road, We had to pull over because we couldn't see on the dark road and the other cars couldn't see us. If you cut them off automatic, they will do this & they won't come back on when turned on. I don't like to leave them on all the time. This is very dangerous to us and the other drivers. What can I do about this without leaving the lights on all the time? First it was our door locks & our windows. I still have one window that won't go up sometimes, usually when it's raining. I know my car isn't under warranty, but Dodge should do something about these things or at least know what causes this.
The problem turned out to be a not-too-costly fix but it's a definite safety concern. It couldn't be diagnosed initially because the lights would work when I took it in. Eventually, I hit it right and one time they didn't work. My mechanic then found it was the light switch and replaced it with a used part, I think from a slightly older Caravan. For the last 2 years it's worked fine.
Find a five star dealership on repairs or authorized repair shop that knows what they are doing and if you have warranty take advantage of it. I have had this van for about 4 years and have seen all of the electrical and noise problems you can have. But other than those minor things my dealer has always found and repaired the problem and i would not trade this Grand Caravan for any other make. After 100,000 miles it has never broken down.
The headlight sometimes won't come on. Sometimes they won't go off. Sometimes they don't go to the proper setting. They have killed the battery overnight by coming back on. They have gone off driving down the road at nightin a rainstorm. This is the most dangerous.

I've not only dealt with the airbag issue, but have been locked out of my car. I also was driving one day and the lights just completely went out. My heater seems to work when it feels like it and my cd player decides for itself that it will give me my cd's back. There are so many issues with my car that still only has 40,000 miles on it. I've taken it to the dealership 3 times and they constantly tell me they found nothing wrong. The suspension is shot. Just last week my husband was driving to his class and the rocker arm in the engine blew as well as the transmission. Has that ever happened? Is it normal that it happened? Can someone tell me (now that my warranty has run out) what legally I can do about this rotten peice of crap? I am being completely sincere.
