Check engine light came on and would go off intermittently, even when the mechanic did not reset the codes. Codes cited EGR valve. Vehicle would also give subtle hints of missing while traveling in 40-45 mph range. Mechanic blamed it on ethanol in the gas, and suggested running a tankful of 90 octane no-ethanol gas. Did so and the check engine light no longer came on, but the performance did not improve. Vehicle today stalled and cut out while traveling at about 10 mph. First time a vehicle with automatic transmission ever did that. It started up again with no problem after coasting to a stop.

Worried about the jerking or stuttering my van does at around 40 mph. Have had the EGR code off and on this year too.
