I have put two batteries in it so far in 2 yrs. I do know if the switch for allowing dome light to turn on when the doors are open is on it will kill the battery. Most of the time it would start after 20 min and turning everything off it will start sometimes a jump is needed. There has to be something other than bad batteries, the ALT nor the starter are problem according to the "experts". I am so close to swearing off Dodge in general this crap is getting ridiculous.

I own a 2005 Dodge Caravan, it had, apart from the locks not working, a problem with the battery suddenly discharging. The problem with that issue is that you never can know when it will happen. It got to a point I was gong around with an extra battery, but I think now it is related (directly) with the other electrical problems that comes with that year.

The problem went away when the radio stopped working, long before the locks stopped working too, so I think that there was a malfunction somewhere in those 2 issues that drains the battery. Since it is 3 months since my battery stopped draining I won't even try to fix the locks or the radio. I am concerned that the problem will return if I fix the radio (or replace the fuse) for me having the radio not working in exchange of being stuck somewhere with the battery dead is a good deal. I didn't even bother to reset anything nor checking the fuses.

So for the people who have that awful problem, if the radio stops working DON'T GET IT FIXED, you probably fixed your battery problem! And for the power lock problem, it can be related in some way, something somewhere draws too much current. I can live with it not working. I also own a 1993 Grand Caravan and when I take it everything works. It just reminds me that Chrysler screwed up somewhere along the way and don't care about fixing it.

I will I buy another Caravan ? Nope
