Grand Caravan EX 3.8L

Power steering was binding. Took vehicle to dealer and he gave me the run around saying that I didn't flush the fluid as necessary. The service manuals do not require that the fluid be flushed and Dodge wouldn't warranty the vehicle repairs under manufacture or extended warranty. Bottom line - Don't buy a Dodge product.

Grand Caravan LX 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

Bought this Grand Caravan used with 79k miles on it. At 85k miles, when first driving after parked for a few hours the steering would "bind" when turning left, as though there were no power steering. Dealer charged $1000 to replace the rack and power steering fluid filter, saying that the power steering fluid should have been flushed regularly...I don't buy that. The repair statement said that the power steering fluid filter was clogged and the rack was damaged...probably due to lack of fluid or lube. After reading other similar complaints on this web site I think Dodge has a design problem...beware...it's expensive to fix.
