First thing...this vehicle is 13 years old so I might not have a legitimate gripe but when looking for repair info on the web for this, I stumbled onto the recalls for the 1992 and 1993 Dodge Grand Caravans with this problem.
I was driving 70 mph in the rain when my left wiper bent backwards and hung over the driver's side door. My right wiper continued to work for about 10 seconds before stopping. I couldn't see clearly so I immediately put on my hazard lights, slowed way down, pulled into the far right lane, and continued the 1/4 mile or so to my exit. Scared the crap out of me!
When I looked at the problem, I saw that the arm to the left pivot point of the wiper linkage had failed.
Since the vehicle is older, is this a valid complaint? I'm wondering if the recall problem was sufficient. Could newer vehicles have this problem? I haven't seen any other complaints like this on the Internet.
