This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan front and rear brake pads and rotors wear out nearly every month. The vehicle begins to sway while driving 55mph on freeway or when changing lanes. The emergency brake light is on due to a leakage in the brakes. The egr valve keeps going out and the service engine light is on.
The front brakes were worn, air bag light illuminated, tensioner assembly failed, horn was inoperable, and the water pump leaked. As corrections, all defective componets were replaced.
Had problems with brakes. Took to mechanic to have them pulled. Noticed the rotors were corroded/rusted & pitted. Was informed rotors not usable & needed replacing.
When driving at 45 and up and braking the steering starts shuttering. Dealer contacted, and stated the rotors are warped and causing the shuttering. Repairwork done at owner's expense.
