CarComplaints.com Notes: When the 3rd-generation Durango was introduced in 2011 owners almost immediately started having a wide range of issues -- from water pump failure to stalling engines. Turns out the TIPM is to blame and those problems carried into the 2012 model year.

TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Modules) is responsible for controlling and distributing power to all the vehicle’s electrical functions. So when the TIPM starts acting up, so do all sorts of problems in the vehicle.

The problems have been so bad -- and replacement parts became so hard to find -- that a class-action lawsuit was filed against Chrysler focusing on the 2011-2012 Durango. The lawsuit accuses the automaker of ignorning the problem until it spiraled out of control.

It took 30 minutes for my husband to crank my car. He had to tap on relays in the fuse box to get it going. The car was parked in the driveway and had not been driven since the prior evening. Went to the dealership to ask about recall and they said Chrysler had not come up with a fix yet. So the question is. What do we do if we keep having issues?

My vehicle stalls after starting then continuously turns over until I push the ignition button multiple times until it turns off. I have had this issue since April of 2018. The vehicle has been to the dealer multiple times for this with no repair available. Now there is a recall issued on the fuel relay switch(which was fixed a few years ago for the same problem.) and again no repair available. This is very unsafe and quite embarrassing when I am trying to start my vehicle. How long do we have to wait?

Stalling randomly while driving all power cuts out. Huge safety concern. Still at dealership 3 months later for a recall and no piece available yet according to Chrysler. Fuel pump relay. No estimated date for replacement. Beyond upset. I want my vehicle back. Chrysler needs to get a remedy and fast for its customers. It's a huge safety issue and people need their own vehicles. Not a rental it shouldn't take this long. They should have a piece made or at least an estimated time when they will have it for customers.

My 2012 Dodge Durango has lost all power while I have been driving it. Today is the 4th time this has happened in about 2 months. I have been driving and without any warning the car stops running and all electrical is gone, my dash is blank. I was almost in an accident today. I pulled out on a busy street and lost all power. I was able to stop in the middle turn lane and put it in neutral. It is very scary each time it happens without warning!!! this issue must be addressed and fixed. My safety and my family's safety is at stake! I am afraid and won't drive it on the interstate. This engine failure has happened 4 times in the last couple of months. This sounds like manufacturer recall # V62, NHTSA recall # 19V-813 with the stall condition while driving the vehicle. A fuel pump relay failure. (recall related incident)

The engine regularly will not start when I push the button. It stalls over and over. Sometimes leaving us stranded. This has been happening since at least 2016 and I have had all recalls repaired. The matter has never resolved! now I have been informed that the initial recall replacement part was faulty and Dodge currently does not have a fix.

I've have an ongoing problem with the check engine light and feeling like the truck is going to stahl. Can't remote start my truck because of this problem. I've taken it to get repaired several times for the same issue and still have not fixed the problem. I just got my truck back on 10/25/19 and didn't drive it until Monday 10/18/19 and check engine light came back on and feeling like it's going to stahl. I want my truck to be repaired already.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15V115000 (electrical system); however, the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. While accelerating from a stop, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact mentioned that the fuel pump was inoperable and an abnormal clicking noise was heard. Also, the vehicle periodically failed to start. Galeana Chrysler Jeep Kia (180 greystone blvd, columbia, SC 29210, (803) 779-7300) was contacted and informed the contact that the failure was due to the bypass for the fuel pump. The contact was referred to the manufacturer to see if the repair would be covered. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle would not be covered. The failure mileage was 180,000.

I parked my car at home. In the morning when I pressed the start switch to start the car crank, and it does not start. I wait a minute press the start switch again and the car keeps cranking no stopping until I move my gear from park to reverse. I remove the switch and I add my car key and try again with car key. After 3 times the car starts. I know there's a recall or lawsuit for this issue. I want my car fixed with no cost for me. I maintain my car in good shape and urge to get this done. This started this week 12/17/18

Regarding safety recall R09 / NHTSA 15V-115 fuel pump relay - 2012-2013 Dodge Durango & Jeep Grand Cherokee this recall was performed on my vehicle a few months ago, the other week the fix failed several times starting the car and once while the car was in motion. I took it back in to the dealer to get the fix redone, in the two days since the redo the car has already not started several times and stopped supplying power to the fuel pump while the car was in motion once. So in short, the fix for the original safety issue does not work and is even worse than before the fix. Searching online several other people also have had the fix fail on them as well.

3 years after having my fuel pump relay recall performed on my 2012 Durango crew the same exact symptoms are happening. Stalling out while driving and the car will try to crank but not fully turn over. Put the Durango in the shop and it's the same problem again the fuel pump relay and we have to pay out of pocket for the repair. This part should not be failing again after a 30,000 mile 3year difference on a 70,000 mile car. What ever parts they used for recall are faulty and eventually fail. I should not have to have my fuel pump relay changed again on this car. Dodge needs to take responsibility and fix the issue the first time and not put burden on their customers of their defects. I'm putting this out there for anyone having the same issue after their recall was fixed. Complain! so we aren't responsible for Dodge mistakes.

The battery gets drain out without warning it happens once or twice a month lately it's happening more often, my truck won't start even if the day before was running battery was check and it's fine. Check engine light it's on now once the truck didn't want to turn on. Took it to a mechanic and he said it was a relay issue. Brakes are in the recall VIN check list along one other recall. The lights inside turn on and off as well as if there is a short going on while in driving mode it feels like the truck is loosing power even though it has gas. I'm afraid to drive it.
