CarComplaints.com Notes: When the 3rd-generation Durango was introduced in 2011 owners almost immediately started having a wide range of issues -- from water pump failure to stalling engines. Turns out the TIPM is to blame and those problems carried into the 2012 model year.

TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Modules) is responsible for controlling and distributing power to all the vehicle’s electrical functions. So when the TIPM starts acting up, so do all sorts of problems in the vehicle.

The problems have been so bad -- and replacement parts became so hard to find -- that a class-action lawsuit was filed against Chrysler focusing on the 2011-2012 Durango. The lawsuit accuses the automaker of ignorning the problem until it spiraled out of control.

Dealer says it's going to take 2 weeks to get car back.

Says they have cars there for over a month.

Got to question buying a Dodge if service dept has trouble keeping up with all the issues.

September 2016...I noticed the 2012 DODGE DURANGO CREW, BLACK was not moving strongly...felt like it was dragging....took it to the dealer and told him to do a computer check on the car....150. dollars later the mechanic told me there was nothing wrong with the car. I asked him if he did not see that big puddle under the hood on the ledge....he said that would another 40.dollars to check it out.......after a few hours mechanic called and told me i need a CONDENSOR.....300 dollars plus for the part...and 300 dollars plus for labor ....i purchased the condensor for 150......and took the car to another garage and they installed the condensor plus other details....for a total of 200 dollars......

Shortly after purchasing this CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE my water pump completely broke. No heat for my commute and a rental van, which was less than ideal in the snow. The whole reason I purchased an SUV was because I live in an area that gets plowed infrequently. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN A YEAR OLD VEHICLE !! This is a few of the issues I have had with this vehicle. I tried to lemon law it but Chrysler does not consider it all the same issues.
