CarComplaints.com Notes: The third generation Durango is plagued by a defective TIPM, particularily in the 2011 and 2012 model years.
TIPM, which stands for Totally Integrated Power Modules, is responsible for controlling and distributing power to all the vehicle’s electrical functions. So when your TIPM goes haywire, bad things start happening. Things like your water pump can stop working, your engine can stall out and your airbags can randomly deploy.

September 2015. During routine service, mechanic discovered steering fluid leak past the seals in the rack of the rack and pinion steering. Recommended solution is to replace the entire rack with all seals. I bought this 2011 model new in September 2011 so it is 4 years old and has about 30,000 miles. This is totally unreasonable. I was informed that warranty is expired due to time so no warranty on this repair.
As of Sep 21, 2015 has not been done yet, is scheduled. Had to prepay for rack as this is not a stock item on Vancouver Island in Canada.
