The past 2 months, my vehicle has been given me problems starting engine- I turn key to start and it just cranks! in October, I brought to Dodge dealership and they told me it needed a "software update"- that didn't do anything. It randomly starts when it wants! then the past week it got really bad- not starting at all! black Friday left to shop early in morning- wouldn't start, so took husband's truck- got back at noon- tried again car started- so me and my little girl went into town- stop at traffic red light- then light turned green- pressed gas to go and nothing happened!!!! my car randomly just turned off at light! as cars honked for me to go I hurried and put car in park and prayed for it to crank- it did- and drove straight to dealership- again they said it was an software update! well its Sunday and my vehicle is at my mom's because it won't start at all! I'm reading a lot of complaints of ticm- that is backordered- I will call dealer tomorrow - I really love my Durango and hope it can be fixed.

Incident date start: 11/02/2013. The vehicle would not start. The engine would turn over but there was either no fuel or ignition spark. Continued to try to start the vehicle but refused to start. After about 6 to 8 minutes of trying it started. The vehicle started every time after that but the next morning it refused to start. Again after 6 to 8 minutes of trying, it started and started each time for the rest of the day. This repeated itself each day. The dealer diagnosed it as the "totally integrated control module" failed.

I took my vehicle to the Dodge dealer and was told that my car could not crank because of a bad tipm module. Well that was a month ago, as I was told the part was on back order and would be here October 20th. Well that date came and passed and now I am told the part will not be available until November 19th. As I am a customer who is supported Dodge I am beginning to have second thoughts and will keep this in mind when I purchase another vehicle. I cannot believe that there is not a national recall because of the numerous customers that are awaiting this particular part. We need help from someone as my car will sit for at least 2 months.

The vehicle will not start, it cranks for a long time, then needs to be restarted 5 times plus before it starts, occasionally stalling out, before finally starting. This has been going on since 9/18/13. At times it leaves something running in the back of the vehicle by the fuel pump, even when the vehicle is turned off. Brought to the dealer on 9/23/13 and they found the problem to be the tipm (totally integrated power module), which is on a restricted backorder with no eta. We were told to pick up the vehicle and bring it back when the part comes in. My wife is 9 months pregnant and this is our family vehicle, which is unreliable. To make it worse the vehicle stalled going through an intersection the other day, when I was driving with my 1 year old in the backseat, and we were almost hit, luckily there was an angel looking over us, and the other vehicle stopped just in time. I have tried to reach out to Dodge customer service about this, and they are not willing to pay for a loaner/rental and they can give no eta on the part, as there is a couple thousand on backorder. My family and Dodge got lucky in this situation, but something needs to be done before this occurs again to someone else, and someone is injured or killed.

I have a 2011 Dodge Durango that has been in the dealership's shop since Sept 20th. The fuel pumps failed because of a known issue with the totally integrated power module. This item has been on backorder and if that's not enough...dealerships nationwide are restricted to ordering one module per week. I believe this item should be on recall because apparently others are waiting for this part...some over a period of months. I need my vehicle. I've been in touch with customer service/corporate who has been giving me the run around and even promising me a rental car...but not making good on their promise. I'm to the point where I'm calling them daily and getting the same response. I've been assigned a case manager...but the case manager never called me. Dodge doesn't have the courtesy of calling me back to let me know what's going on. What kind of business is that? tomorrow I will have been without my vehicle for two weeks without any other means of transportation. I wasn't given an estimate on when the part would be in or a rental car. This really sucks! I have young kids and pray that there isn't an emergency where I need to jump in my vehicle and go because I won't be able to.

2011 Dodge Durango began to not start. Just as others.. had to try starting and would finally turn over. After a visit to dealer, where no diagnosis codes showed up..and no warning system lights were on, we took home. Continued to do this for next week, even stalled while on road while going 50 mph, and at a stoplight. Big safety issue here as could have got rearended w/a 3yr in car. Enough...back to Dodge dealer, towed this time cause wouldn't start at all. It has been at dealer for 2 weeks presently. Have begun to fight Chrysler/Dodge as it should be covered by warranty even though over 3/36000 as the part tipm controls the items covered under powertrain warranty. This should have been a nationwide recall as it has happened to Dodge/Jeep/etc and obviously by social media viewing it continues. Not only a factory or part defect obviously but a serious safety matter for those driving or riding in the vehicle. One lawsuit and maybe they will correct? no idea on eta of part, "will call you weekly" w/updates is not a good sign. America bailed out Chrysler and now America is driving unsafe and potentially life-threatening vehicles. They apparently are offering rental cars to some. We customers still have to pay our car payments/insurance etc while our vehicles sit for weeks on end for an issue that we had no warning system light detection and engine stalling was random either at the start of your engine starting or on the road with the potential accident happening. Come on Chrysler protect the americans that bailed you out and do a recall on this dangerous issue and find the part...eta unknown is not acceptable or face even more loss of sales due to the negativity of safety/engine problems such as this. No re-dos on bailouts.

Purchased brand new. First incident in may we used the key fob to start the vehicle and the vehicle ran for 5 minutes then shut down. The engine completely shut down and we were not able to start the vehicle using the manual key or key fob-vehicle having it towed. Unknown cause! in June, the vehicle was started with the key fob and placed my twin 3 yr olds in the car. The key fob was placed on the passenger seat in the vehicle. All doors were shut when I was walked to the passenger side when suddenly the doors locked and the vehicle shut off after 10 minutes, 122 degrees outside. There was no reason for the doors to all lock. Massive malfunction. I had to call the 911 and have the fire department rescue my children out of the vehicle! incident unknown next, for the last 2 months we are having issues getting the car to start with the push button, key fob and manual start. We replaced the battery. No fix. Dealership determine there is not a fix as of this point and handed us the keys and told us we would have to wait until there is a fix. They stated they will call when they determined why so many vehicles have this same issue. Electrical problem? after, still problems for 2M the push start and key fob start has gotten worse. It takes 8-15 tries to get the vehicle started! problem unresolved! next this past week having same starting issues, the cars has a "fan sound" after the vehicle is turned off. It runs down the battery and battery dies every day. Now, its back into the dealership again! the car does not start for them to [xxx] look at it! end result! they think its an electrical issue, they think they might be able to fix the starting issue after the "part" comes in and could take months, knowing 1500 plus other vehicles need this same "part" they now, offered us a rental car that doesn't fit our family of 5! problem will never be resolved!

Engine would not start with multiple ignition attempts. Engine would sporadically start and begin to idle, within seconds idle RPM would progressively decrease inciting knocking noises and severe shaking, ultimately causing engine to shutoff. Called local dealership to discuss problem with service department which instructed the removal of the push/start button from the instrument panel and to utilize the key fob for ignition; citing possible push/start button malfunction. This ignition method resolved problem for initial incident. The next day, same engine ignition malfunction manifest. After multiple ignition attempts vehicle started and was taken to dealership for computer diagnostics. Service technician reported tipm malfunction with fuel pump or fuel pump relay. Service technician also stated the tipm was on international backorder with no known availability date. Service technician also stated the dealership had already conducted 9 tipm replacements and had 4 vehicles on the lot currently awaiting replacement parts. Due to lack of replacement tipm, vehicle is still presenting ignition malfunction and is highly unreliable in its current state.

Engine light comes on, fcw light comes on, RPM's run high and car accelerates on its own. Must ride the brake and be extremely careful when that happens as car tries to jump/accelerate on its own. Worry that this will cause accident. Car has been in and out of repair shop on three occasions and problem still not fixed. Dealer does not know what is wrong or how to fix. Have consulted corporate and put the word out to other dealers but to no avail. Just got car back again after dealer having for the entire day and problem started up again. Plan on writing to manufacturer and reporting car under lemon law.
