The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Durango. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact drove over a pothole and the vehicle veered off the road. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Durango. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V352000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact inquired about recall part availability and a loaner vehicle because he felt unsafe driving the vehicle. The contact was informed that NHTSA did not require manufacturers to reimburse owners for collateral costs associated with a safety recall, nor is the federal government authorized to reimburse vehicle owners for any costs associated with safety recalls. The contact was informed that a second notification would be sent to owners in late March of 2017. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Takata recall over the last year I have begin seeing a lot of rust spots on several parts of the hood, body and back of my vehicle. I have had used vehicles of diffrent brand that paint held up but, my vehicle is white and this is very noticeable. Lack of using the correct rust treatment in the paint by manufacture clearly could is the problem and should be addressed and looked into. The use of short cuts and cheap product is unfair to the thousands that I've pad out. Takata recall, clearly I have been waiting over as year to have my air bags replaced. The fact is they don't have any to do the replacement. How much since does it make to do one and not both at once. Instead they want to cause hardship to mje and keep my vehicle without a rental and then inconviuence me to come back to have the other replaced. What happens if this air bag kills me or me ad my passenger then what!!!!!!!

The vehicle air bag light keeps coming on and throwing a code so the vehicle can not get an inspection sticker. The code is for the clock spring with electronic stabiltiy control. This part is not available and is back ordered per the dealer. Called Dodge and got a lot of I don't know with no resolution. This part is a $900 part you would think they would have an answer as to when it would be available. They should supply an extended waranty on this part seeing as every Durango seems to have this problem. No airbag would deploy without this part.
