Vehicle fluctuates in RPM's upon starting vehicle, while stopped in traffic and while driving down the road. Vehicle also will randomly stall with no warning while in park, while stopped at traffic signals, pulling into intersections and also while driving down the road. Upon stalling I have an extremely short amount of time to pull over before I loose complete ability to steer the vehicle. Vehicle has random violent shifting while driving. Problems began about 90,000 miles and has gotten progressively and severely worse the past 3 months.

While driving the car I turned to park and it shut off. It has done this many times, while driving down the street. I am afraid to drive my kids in the car for fear it will shut off on the highway.

The vehicle stalls/loses power while driving down the road, it gives no warning and once the vehicle loses power you lose control of steering and come to an abrupt stop. This leave the vehicle stranded wherever you are with little to no way to safely pull to the side of the road or highway. This is an ongoing issue with this vehicle, it has been into the dealership multiple times and they have continuously failed to find or solve the issue. It is extremely concerning that this vehicle is ultimately putting my family in grave danger as the times that the vehicle has broke down have been in the middle of busy intersections. The forums and web searches online appear to prove that this is a common issue with Dodge yet the manufacturer is unable to solve the issue or put out a recall in regards to the problem. This is not only endangering the lives of my family but potentially the lives of many other unsuspecting owners/families.

Driving on the NJ turnpike the engine light suddenly came on and then the engine locked up. The truck is regularly maintained and has not had any accidents prior to this. The car is not even 7 full years of age yet. Called Chrysler and they refuse to help out due to age and miles. How does a car in great running condition just stall and die while driving?

2007 Dodge Durango slt 4X4, stalling and engine failure without warning while driving down the road. The first few times the engine stalled it would lose all power and stop in the intersection with little to no way of controlling the vehicle. Once the vehicle stalled and several more times in an attempt to get safely out of the road the engine would no longer start. The dealership has had the vehicle for several days with no luck in finding the issues. I also have issues with the fuel system when filling the vehicle with gas it shoots out of the tank everytime it is filled up. This started at approx 45K miles. I was unaware that this is a safety issue, since it is a know problem with Dodge it should be addressed.
