CarComplaints.com Notes: The second generation Durango was introduced in 2004 and instantly came under fire for, well, catching on fire.
From 2004-2006 electrical overloading in the driver's side instrument panel caused numerous reports of interior fires. The interior infernos became so commonplace that Chrysler eventually issued a recall.
The problems didn't stop there, however. Owners of the recalled vehicles complained about being treated unfairly and given take-it-or-leave-it low ball settlement offers. "They offered me $2000 under NADA retail as a settlement," said one owner, "and have been rude and hostile to deal with." Nothing says awesome service like treating your customers rudely after their cars have caught on fire.
Ok while pulling a 27' camper the 12V outlet went out then the Radio then AC, all dash lights came on ABS, seat belt, ck engine light, speedometer, odometer & tachometer out & the alarm came on and would not stop until I removed the + cable. Stuck 400 miles from home & frustrated !
took to a local dealer and was told the ignition coils were all bad and needed replaced. kinda funny since it runs great and does not have any miss at all.
the engine light stays on and I have a co-worker that has same vehicle and same problem and was bought at same dealership. I have noticed recently that it have to turn my lights off twice to shut them off
2004 Dodge limited 5.7l Hemi. The MIL light came on and will not go off. Problem here is I just made my first payment. Also the Dealers Warranty ran out 3 days ago. What if anything can I do?
OK, I bought this car on the 9th of November and on the 12th it was in shop with the check engine on. This has occured every 2nd day I have had the car serviced!! This is the fourth time I brought the car in and now the care has 1500 miles on it!! I still haven't even made the first car note!! I get the run around everytime I take the car in! Let['s see what else they are going to come up with! Thank God this is a Leasing!!!!!!!!! I will be getting rid of this as soon as I can!
