At an idle engine rev, S up and down, revs up enough to move the vehicle with the brakes on, transmission slipped a lot esp on the highway, will also drop into passing hear and speed up sometimes on its own. Very danerous to drive sometimes.speeds up by its self almost caused an accident.
The contact owns a 2003 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while decelerating, the vehicle erroneously accelerated and crashed into the preceding vehicle. There were no injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage and VIN was not available.
After coming to a stop, I put my vehicle in park. While exiting, the engine started revving causing it to jump out of gear. This resulted in a crash into an apartment that could have turned out much worst.
While driving on I 495 Durango started accelerating without me pushing the gas pedal. It kept accelerating even when I pushed the brakes lightly. There were cars braking in front of me, and I was still accelerating. I had to press the brakes down to the floor and drive on the shoulder. Once on the shoulder I pulled the emergency brake and turned the ignition off.

My Durango accelerates for no reason at all while it is stopped. It happens most frequently after going up a small hill in drive and then putting the car in reverse. When the car is put in reverse it accelerates.
