The clock spring malfunctioned. As a result, radio inside of the steering wheel and the cruise control failed intermittently. A recall was issued for the clock spring, however this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.

My wife was driving our 2000 Dodge Durango. My daughter who was seated in the rear passenger seat screamed causing my wife to turn and look then hitting a concrete pad housing a approximately 30 feet pole from the target parking lot. There is approximately $9000 damage and my wife had to be taken by paramedics to a local hospital. Her head hit and broke the visor and visor arm and then the steering wheel due to the air bag not deploying. A Chrysler inspector has inspecting the vehicle and determined there was nothing wrong with the airbags which I have a hard time understanding.
