The car was dying at lights, onramps, offramps, just basically anytime the oil sloshed around enough to lose oil pressure and shut off. After 4K miles, 40% oil life left according to the monitor, the oil doesn't even register on the dipstick, had to add 2-3 quarts. Went to Dodge dealership, dealt with Chrysler case #'s and reps, was promised a fix and never got it. Oh yeah, the dealership tried to charge me hundreds of dollars. Had to argue with chyrsler corporate for weeks to get them to pay. Is it burning" leaking? it's a manufacturing defect for sure. The epa would have a field day. Their emissions are probably completely out the window if they are burning that much oil, or releasing it into the wild 1 drop at a time. I've never seen any accumulating oil in the garage or my parking spot at work.I don't think the epa would like knowing barrels more of oil are being used than advertised. Also, the car has stalled in the middle of an intersection with cars coming up behind me. It's always been to/from work or something like that, and never with my kids and family in the car. But you'd have to think that's a huge lawsuit/tragedy waiting to happen, and yet Chrysler completely says that's within reasonable spec. Where the hell was this "spec" when I purchased the car? the new sticker didn't say "great gas mileage, awesome nav unit, burns 1qt of oil per week" on the window. 20 year old cars have oil level sensors, and warnings about that. Why does this new age car, not have an oil sensor on it to at least warn us of impending doom when the car stalls making a simple turn" there was a dealership franchise chain down in phoenix completely replacing people's engines for free with the 2.4L tigershark (I think some Jeep and Fiat's have them as well). I also heard rumors that somewhere along the lines of 30% of 2.4L's had the piston rings in backwards?

While I was driving my Dart on the street, it shut off into nuetral and the gear box lit up red. I tried pressing on the gas and it was just stalling not moving at all. I had to put car in park (in the middle of an intersection)turn it off and turn it back on a few times before I could get it into drive again. The next day, the same thing happened when I started the car the whole gear box lit up and when I put it into drive it was on neutral and was stalling the car would not move!

This is the second time this has happened. The engine will stall randomly while driving. The first time it happened, we had to have it towed to the dealership. They said it was a sensor covered under warranty. Ok good. Well a few days after, the problem happened again. This time they say it's because the oil needed to be changed. The hud showed over 50% oil life left. The same issue happened again a few days ago. The problem seems to resolve after an oil change. I've noticed this has happened to a lot of people, but still no recalls. This is extremely dangerous. When the engine stalls, you loose power steering and brakes. This can cause a major accident. Luckily, it's only happened on surface streets. This issue needs to be looked into and fixed.

The motor has had an oil leak that started at 3000 miles and they have not been able to resolve. I am worried that this might lead to an enine fire. I have had it at the dealer several times for this problem and it keeps happening. With the powertrain the vehicle will not move then surges forward. This started around the 5000 mile mark and continues to happen. It acts like the clutch slips but I have had it in the shop several times and every time I am told nothing is wrong. This issue is dangerous when sitting in traffice or taking off from a dead stop becaue the car does not want to move at first and then when it does lunge forward it is not controlable how far it will actuall go.

2.4 L engine stalls and dies at highway speeds. The car also uses a great deal of oil, with no evidence of a leak. Have had it in the shop several times. Mechanics do not know what to do with it. Seems like a faulty engine.

The last 2 weeks my 2014 Dodge Dart would stall in the morning. Doesn't matter when and where. It just loses all power. It wont start for several minutes. At one point at 5:30 am the car stalled on a one way street in a canyon, with backed up traffic. Today I got out of the work around 2:30 pm and while going home in busy traffic, it stalled in and was almost hit by a car behind me. I have read several complaints about the same thing and can't believe that nothing has been recalled.

Started having issues when I started leasing it in 2014.it has been taken into the dealership at least 7 times now, due to stalling out. Everytime I take it in, its because of the same issue.it stalls out at all times, whether it be pulling out of my driveway in the morning, turning slowly around the corner, driving on a local side street going 30 mph, when I started to brake before a speed bump, going 60 mph on the highway, I can keep going. Each time I have been given the run around, problem can't be duplicated, so lets guess. PCM replaced a couple times as well as the flash updates performed, PCV valve replaced multiple times and it still stalls out. Have even had to pay for a battery because they stated that was the issue before and it wasn't so I had to pay for a battery when I could have used that money for something else as I am in a tight budget as it is. As of today, the vehicle was taken to the dealership, again, (I have been to two different dealerships as well) as of today, my PCV and map sensor replaced, again. I was told from an individual from corporate that he told the dealership he wanted them to keep the vehicle to try to replicate the issue. Apparently that was not done which I will certainly be addressing with him and request be done.since the first time I brought it in, which was within the first few months of having it, there always seemed to be an issue with it being "low on oil",every single time. I think that should have raised a red flag the 3rd or 4th time I brought it in. They are playing a guessing game, not being loyal and fair.this is a huge safety concern and it needs to be taken off the market, completely. I think they are just doing anything to buy time because my lease is almost up, not fair. I already have legal counsel standing by. When someone gets killed, then they will worry about our safety.how many complaints will it take.

In the past two weeks my car has stalled out 3 times and it has been unable to start back up. I've had the battery replaced and mechanics cannot determine the issue. The stalling has occurred between 2-5 minutes of driving and always while in motion. This has happened to me in the middle of morning rush hour on city streets each time and I have been lucky enough to pull over to the side before losing all momentum and being stuck in the middle of the road. When it stalls out all the dashboard lights flash on and the engine died. Two of the times happened after making a 90 degree turn, and one time it happened after just going around a curve in the road. It also seems to occur as I am accelerating or decelerating. When trying to turn it back on, the lights and electronics will turn back on but the engine will not turn. I have noticed several complaints for the same issue and I have looked up my VIN on the NHTSA website but it is not under any recalls. I have already spent $265 + aaa towing fees on this issue. The three dates that this has occurred to me are: 3/17/17, 3/24/17, and now 3/27/17. I am keeping all my receipts and I will contact aaa to show the proof of their towing/service.

At 7 am in the dark, the vehicle was approaching a train tracks crossing and stopped/stalled on a train tracks approach. All electronics were checked and verified as good. Starter would not engage. While making arrangements for a tow to the dealership, I checked this board for complaints. Sure enough, the low/no engine oil issue was the root cause. The engine burns oil at an alarming rate as if it were evaporative. I went back and added a quart. The car fired right up. I took it to the dealership just to be safe for them to check it out. Of course, no codes were prevalent so they could do nothing but charge me for an expensive diagnostic and an oil change. They had it for a week. Fca sent me a survey so I made them aware of it. Now, I (along with many of my fellow Dart owners) have posted to the us government's official site for actionable intelligence that they may do something (anything!). how many near misses have to be reported" how many actual failures of this sort has caused a mortal end" dead men and women tell no stories and remember that the car's flash memory does not record a code. So conceivably, this issue may have already been the cause of many preventable deaths. The internet has video available of this failure if the NHTSA are interested. It's dangerous and callous that this issue is not being investigated.

Vehicle was purchased used November 2016. Vehicle has around 37000 miles. While driving the vehicle it will randomly have complete loss of power and the battery light would turn on. Also, when I would try to start the vehicle after it shut off it would take a few attempts to start the vehicle again. In the past week it had happened 4 times. I have noticed it happens within 10 minutes of turning on the car and it has been sitting for 6+ hours. In one incident I was turning onto a major road and it shut off while cars were coming. This is an extreme hazard toward my safety and others.

I would like to voice my opinion on a safety issue involving these cars with the 2.4 liter engine. These cars are using oil, way faster than they should. The cars stall out losing all power and steering if the oil becomes too low. There isn't any indicator light that you are low or any sign until it happens. Currently my car is using just shy of a quart of oil every 1K miles and this is acceptable in Dodge's eyes. They advertise these cars to go 6-8K miles between oil changes - no more than 10K miles! well, at 5.5 qt capacity... you will always run out plus some before a change is due! I have seen many people commenting about their vehicle stalling out on highways, etc without any warning. Majority of people I'm sure are not thinking to check their oil on their new car with every gas fill up to be sure the level is ok. This is totally unacceptable! these cars use the 0W20 synthetic oil and it averages about $9 a qt. This is doubling the cost of oil changes since you need to fill it up several times in between. Plus where is this oil going? mine has recently started sputtering and will be taking it back to the shop.. again.. have a feeling this oil is pooling somewhere and now causing a clog in something!

Car starting stalling/dying when driving in June 2016. Car was towed to the dealer (under warranty) the dealer replaced the battery. After 2 months the heater/ac stopped working and the car began stalling again. In November the car began stalling/dying while driving. The car is in motion when this happens. This is a serious safety hazard. The car dies leaving you with no power and stuck in traffic. It seems to happen during a turn on most occasions. I fear getting hit by another car when this happens. I have noticed several similar complaints with this. Why hasn't this been investigated. The average is 20,00-30,000 miles. Please do not wait until someone gets hurt or losses a life before an investigation on this car is made.

Takata recall, when I got the car form the dealership till now I put a bit over seven thousand miles on a very new 2014 Dodge Dart GT besides the occasional clutch getting stuck when I engaged it forcing me to have to pick it up with my toe I had no problems with the car no stalling or rough shifts until last night when I lost all control while on the highway causing me to have to quickly swerve of the road or be hit by the vehicle behind me. Engine which still run and can accelerate the car will not more in any gear 1-6 or even reverse and even though this is a constant problem on lots odd Dodge Darts that have been recalled they said my VIN doesn't fall under there recall dates.

Vehicle engine is dying at random in traffic- either while stopped or in motion at low speeds. Electricals remain on, but all driving power is lost. Vehicle does not immediately restart. Dealership believed the issue to be oil consumption, but vehicle continued to have the same issue after oil was changed and refilled.

Takata recall this 2014 Dodge Dart aero has now had multiple problems with the clutch and axles. It is currently in the shop to have the slave cylinder for the clutch as well as the axles fixed for the second time in 2 years. They are also in the process of checking in to why the check engine light came on for the mass air flow sensor. This makes 2 times that it has gone to the shop for clutch and axle issues. They also don't know what the real problem is for the check engine light. I have asked them to buy the car back and they wont. They also stated that I may be having to pay some out of pocket to get my car fixed this time. This car is nothing but problems. Like I mentioned before; twice for the clutch and axles, the engine light is on for a reason they don't know other that they think it is the mass air flow sensor, the third time I took it to Dodge for an oil change they told me that no oil came out of the engine and then tried to explain to me that my engine was "known" to do that. Now I have just gotten off the phone with the manufacturer customer service and they replied with they will cover all the costs except for $100. Seems kind of odd to settle on that amount. Plus they wont buy it back. Therefore, this car is known to have clutch and engine problems and Dodge expects me to drive around not having to worry about if my life is at risk. I should also mention that the tires that came on the car were faulty as well as I had to replace two of them already. The bands on the inside of the tire came loose and caused problems with the driving as well. This is junker car that I purchased new and Dodge could care less that it is falling apart.

Car wouldn't start had to replace the starting harness within the first 3 months of owning the car had to replace two batteries even after the harness was replaced but hasn't happened since. Had to replace the turbo hose assembly from pulling in oil and cracked since the oil was hot. Now im having to put in a quart of oil in it every month and I change my oil every two and half months (5,000 miles) so my engine is burning the oil off to quickly (oil consumption). Also drove hit a very small pothole and had my driver side control arm snap very very cleanly and was told that it wouldn't be covered under any warranties.
