CarComplaints.com Notes: The first year of the new Dodge Dart had a rough start, with owners reporting a disproportionate number of engine and transmission problems.
For transmission, the main complaints are transmission failure & rough shifting. So far, average mileage for transmission failure is 25,000 miles. Not good.
For engine problems, it usually starts with the engine light coming on for any number of reasons: bad sensors, ignition coil replacement, bad wiring, faulty gas cap ... dealers are replacing various components with varying degrees of success, or telling owners they can't duplicate the issue.

This car was running, transmission slipped, pulled over and turned the car off and the car wouldn't turnover. Took it to PUEBLO DODGE (JUST SAYING) AND They reset some codes and so it was safe to drive. Same scenario happened again, Car was hauled to Dodge and they just shrugged their shoulders. They were able to drive it, couldn't get the car to make the code pop up. Come get your car AGAIN AT PUEBLO DODGE. Car was picked up and the VERY NEXT DAY the check engine light came ON AGAIN. CALLED PUEBLO DODGE. THEY SAID OH ITS OK TO DRIVE. THAT WAS LESLIE AT PUEBLO DODGE. Drove it to Denver and made it to our hotel and restaurant. The next day while driving to our appointment, the tranny slips, the engine dogs out again and we barely made our appointment. AFTER THE APPT, CALLED PUEBLO DODGE GUESS WHAT? The tranny guy was off and they couldn't help in any way after we had shoveled towing costs to Dodge. Guess the Pueblo Dodge Mechanics were out on a break when it came to solving this issue.
Does anyone know how you can pull error codes off of the cars pc so you can figure out what's going on?
