My gas cap cover will not open if the temp gets below 27F. I am stuck at a gas station, low on gas and I push the gas cap button inside the car repeatedly. The cover will not budge. I tried the quick release pull in the trunk. It will not release the cover. I can't get gas. I go to the dealer and they couldn't get it to open either. It took two guys to finally get it open. One had to push the button on the inside of the car, and one had to pull the cover at the same time. it finally opened.

When I asked what they were going to do about this obvious problem, they said there's nothing they can do because they've never seen this type of problem before. They were adamant that they were going to do nothing for me. So I left pissed off. Since then I have been back again, same problem. While they did the oil change, they claim it opened just fine for them and they found ice inside which prevented the opening. Again I asked what I'm going to do with this continued problem. They told me to continue to bring it in every time I need gas so they can open it, and "monitor" the situation. They can't find a diagnosis at this time to fix the gas door. And he lied about the ice inside.

As soon as I got the car back, I opened the door with the help of my son, one pushing the button and one pulling on the door. There was no ice inside at all. I am livid. I called Chrysler to try and get the situation rectified and they called the dealer, and the service adviser claimed that ice was keeping the door from opening, so Chrysler could do nothing. WTF! He suggested I try a different dealership. Although there are none close to my home. How can they not fix this? It's clearly a design flaw. And I've seen other people on Dodge Forums who claim their dealership replaced their fuel door.
