CarComplaints.com Notes: The first year of the new Dodge Dart had a rough start, with owners reporting a disproportionate number of engine and transmission problems.
For transmission, the main complaints are transmission failure & rough shifting. So far, average mileage for transmission failure is 25,000 miles. Not good.
For engine problems, it usually starts with the engine light coming on for any number of reasons: bad sensors, ignition coil replacement, bad wiring, faulty gas cap ... dealers are replacing various components with varying degrees of success, or telling owners they can't duplicate the issue.

First time buying a Dodge car not sure if I ever will buy another in my life lots of problems. I never had this many problems on a new car ever. I had wrote a letter to dodge corporate they seem to not want to do anything about the problem. I'm sure they are aware of the problem they should have a recall out for it. My car goes through a rebooting system trying to short out anything like the sun roof motor had that fixed once still trying to knock it out again. Plus it resets my settings on the radio. Lost my headlights the other day for about 20 min then they came back on. My rear defogger is starting to not work it don't stay on long anymore. My check engine light has been on for months now went to the dodge dealer they reset the light but it came back on they told me that the active grill was stuck to check the wire harness behind the bumper that they would need to have it for a few days but they haven't contacted me back to when I could bring it in so they could do this. I shouldn't have to pay anything when I do cause I have said something right when I bought it after a few weeks when I've noticed the problems never had anything done about it. I cant even do a software update to my car at the web site using a flash drive. A software update should be free but they charge you. I also cant seem to add a LED headlights or any LED light to my car with out the message telling me that light is out. The Rims that my car came with are very cheep I had purchase some Chrome rims I even told Dodge Corporate about that to. Its sad when you get ripped off when the company wont do anything.
Update from Dec 17, 2016: Another problem that I have is that in the summer when its hot but not hot to where I want the A/C on so I just want to vent part on plus a few windows so then my A/C kicks in but its not on Auto so then I shut it all off then Heat comes out by the feet area so there is something wrong there but yet Dodge hasn't done anything.
