CarComplaints.com Notes: The first year of the new Dodge Dart had a rough start, with owners reporting a disproportionate number of engine and transmission problems.
For transmission, the main complaints are transmission failure & rough shifting. So far, average mileage for transmission failure is 25,000 miles. Not good.
For engine problems, it usually starts with the engine light coming on for any number of reasons: bad sensors, ignition coil replacement, bad wiring, faulty gas cap ... dealers are replacing various components with varying degrees of success, or telling owners they can't duplicate the issue.

Bought this 13 Dodge Dart with 2k on it. It was a California buyback that I knew had problems with last owner. Dealer told me Dodge had bought it back, went through it with a fine tooth comb, and said all problems were fixed. I bought it in March of 14 so it still had 2 years of factory warranty left which got used quite often. I have had many issues with it, but the one they can't figure out is the heater blower and switches go on/off by themselves. They replaced the HVAC system in Jan. which I was hoping took care of problem but I was wrong. I let dealer know of the situation 1 week ago and they asked me when it happens. Well once out on the open highway, and other times just going 30mph or less. I have factory remote start and it seems to do it after using that option. so the dealer said not to use remote start and see if it does it, well yes it did and not sure what I can do with this second time LEMON before the factory warranty goes off in March 2016. My whole issue is I owe nothing for the car, it has 18k on it now not sure if I want to keep it and what it's worth to anybody else. Any feedback would be great.
