The contact owns 2011 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, he attempted to apply the brakes but depressed the accelerator pedal instead because the pedals were positioned very close together. The contact was able to stop the vehicle by shifting into neutral and engaging the emergency brake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 1,000 and the current mileage was 2,000. The VIN was not available.
