The wheel bearing started squeaking very loudly. Took it in once and they greased it. That only fixed it for about a month and then it started making noise again. Took it to a different mechanic. The mechanic determined the wheel bearing was so bad, that it almost broke off the truck. My wheel would have come off. I was so surprised how bad it got so fast.

Dakota SLT 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,000 miles

I had to have ball joints replaced after 35,000 miles. Now I need wheel bearings after just 44,000 miles. One was really howling. For over $300 each to get replaced at such low mileage, I find that totally ridiculous. It's bad enough that to change the axle fluid reccommended every 15000 miles, it's over $300 each time.
