If every Dodge Dakota owner reported this problem you'd need another computer to store the complaints. If you continue to use your heater with only one fan speed, it is likely to burn/melt your heater resistor wiring harness($103 plus tax) There are likely none left in your local scrap yards due to this common Dodge problem. The heater resistor is poorly made. Obviously this circuit is not adequately fuse protected. Dodge should recall all these for a fire hazard recall. Resistor harness burns and melts. Wires eventually burn off. Hey Dodge wake up. Dodge dealerships are well aware of this common problem, but do nothing but take your money for the parts required to fix it. No wonder they call it ram tough...........they are ramming you up the A...................

What causes the blower fan to only work on high? Is it a problem that has to be fixed at the Dealership?

All of a sudden, the 4 speed blower switch will only work on the highest speed, on a hot day, you boil then freeze, pain in the you know what.

The blower only operates when it is in the highest setting. It is very annoying, but not sure I want to bring it in to the dealer knuckleheads who'll leave greasy hand/foot prints everywhere and overcharge me to boot. It seems to me that the dash surround can be removed to access switch and perhaps a little electrical contact spray will fix.
