Consumer noticed that the SRS light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the air bag sensor and switch needed to be replaced, and replaced it twice. However, the problem recurred.
I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota quadcab. During my warranty periody the air bag light came on. I took it to the dealer who stated it was a short in the system. It was fixed. The problem happened again, same short. Dealer fixed it under warranty. Now it's happened again. Truck is not covered now for this part. Dealer says that the airbag system will not deploy in a crash.
