engine problem
I have only had the truck 3 months, and already have replaced the alternator, water pump, rear breaks, transmission and had to unplug the heater core.

The problem settled down whenever I considered taking it in. Recently had a tune-up and the problem has come back. Seems to happen more when the air conditioner is on.

Idles up quick when starting, 1600-2000. Fluctuating idle. On highway driving RPMS jump 200-300 rpm while at steady speed with or without at cruise on.

What would cause this problem? The high revving idle occurs when you step on the gas to shift but when you release the gas pedal the engine is still revving too high and very slowly lowers to a fluctuating Idle. The problem lessens after running for a few miles.
