Drivers side seat broke when sitting down and I fell back. Further investigation shows that the bottom bolt and middle screw snapped. Fortunately no one was hurt, but they could have been if I was on a freeway.
The bolt supporting the driver's side seatback has sheared numerous times, causing the seat back to collapse. So far the vehicle has been stopped when failure occurred, but this could be deadly if failure occurs while the vehicle is in motion. Once, the bracket supporting the seat back developed a crack. The part was replaced.
At a stop light another vehicle rear ended consumer's vehicle, causing it to hit the vehicle in front. Upon impact, drivers airbag did not deploy, failing to protect the occupant in this crash. Also, driver seatback collapsed during crash.
Driver's side seatback support bolt snapped, allowing driver's seat back to fall to the extended part of the pickup's cab interior while driving @ 60 M.P.H.
