Car has been garage kept. Mostly parked duration of pandemic. Radio (display screen) has randomly just shut down while driving roughly 10 times but immediately restarts. The display started freezing after reversing and hold the backup camera photo. I would have to pull over, park, turn car off for it to reset. Happened 2-3x. I had made appointments to get it checked but family illnesses/hospitalizations/treatments kept me from getting the car in and rescheduling. Finally got it in and it wasn't under warranty even though I had been calling and trying for a few months but whatever. Brought it in and it was going to be almost $2k to replace "the radio" but felt that wasn't the issue. I believe it to be a short somewhere with the wiring and didn't want them to just start replacing things without a definitive reason. They checked it but didn't really see anything. (Never do!) That was roughly 12-18 months ago. It started shutting down the screen again and now, the dashboard which I hadn't noticed before. Has anyone experienced these problems and what was the fix/cost roughly? There are no recalls for this issue.
