The first time I smelled raw fuel was when I opened the trunk of the car. The trunk smelled of raw fuel. I reported this problem to the dealer and they said there was no information on this or any other report of this problem according to Dodge. I have never carried anything in my trunk other than misc. items and never any fuel. The second time this happened, the cabin filled with raw fuel smell. I had fueled the car earlier and the tank was full. I thought perhaps I overfilled the tank and that gas had sloshed out of the cap. It concerned me greatly. The third time this happened, the tank was full, however I had driven over 70 miles so it should not longer be completely full. The cabin filled with fuel smells after I came to a complete stop at a stop light. There were no other cars or vehicles around me at that time. The Dodge dealer kept trying to tell me that it must be from another vehicle close to mine or from another vehicles exhaust. NOT the case.
Dodge simply seems to dismiss this problem as they cannot recreate the problem, nor have they bothered to fill the tank and drive the car. I feel the car's tank is burping fuel fumes as the gas sloshes around in the tank and the fumes are being vented into the trunk and therefore into the car cabin.
