Driving out of town one day, and I noticed that I had no cruise control. It wouldn't turn on at all. Just figured the TCM went down and I would have to take it into the shop to get it reset the next day. After returning back home, shutting off the car for the night.. I walked out to take it in to the shop the next morning. Tried remote starting my car while I was getting ready (It was a little chilly, 20-30F). I walked out and the car was not running. What the f*ck?
I got in and tried to start the vehicle. Electrically, all the lights dimmed/shut off in the cabin as if the car was trying to start.. But, the starter was never even getting power. Checked battery, it's good. I wound up doing a lot of wire tracing and checking the TCM, ECM and PCM. All modules were down and the PCM was not operating correctly.
I had to get it towed from my house to a local dealership, who then diagnosed the problem down to exactly what I came to find out. (They wouldn't take my word for it and just replace the PCM. I couldn't personally change it myself without some special dodge computer to reprogram the PCM to my car.)
All in all, my car was out of commission for 2 weeks and $1,100 spent. I got my car back.
