The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While driving at an unknown speed, the radio failed, the vehicle stalled, and the ABS indicator illuminated. After the failure, a small amount of smoke emitted from the engine compartment. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,243.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that there was a dead cell in the battery that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure returned immediately after leaving the dealer. The contact returned to the dealer and was advised to drive the vehicle and the code would clear independently. The battery saver mode continued to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer who stated that the alternator was faulty. The technician later determined that the voltage regulator needed to be repaired. The repair was performed. The failure returned. In addition, the contact stated the headlight assembly failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the headlight assembly was burned out. The vehicle was repaired but since the failure persisted the vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the a new PCM would resolve the issue. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact and several child passengers became locked into the vehicle for several minutes due to the door locks failing. The door was opened after multiple attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the contact was advised that the battery and alternator failed and needed to be replaced.
