Panama City Beach, Florida mechanics have explained this is an on-going problem with The Dodge Charger, especially with Hemi engine in my car. How does a 2008 Dodge Charger be ruined already. It is not repairable; the engine is blown. The oil pump on the Dodge Charger is faulty; the design is flawed and causes engines to freeze. It is not occurring enough for Dodge to recall and spend billions and billions of dollars to change the design.
The oil pump malfunctions with absolutely no detection or warning signs. It does not pump enough oil from bottom to the top of the engine. The pump sends enough oil for the the warning system not to detect any problems and there is plenty of oil registered on the oil stick. As oil is not pumped to the top of the engine, it suddenly freezes, cracks, stops and the engine is blown. Now, bought this 2008 Dodge Charger 2 years ago....and the engine is blown costing thousands of dollars to repair and the warranty has ended.
I am faced with a voluntary repo because (1) I am not able to buy a rebuilt engine and (2) It is only guaranteed for 3 years with no promise the oil pump will not go on it since it is the same faulty Dodge Charger engine.
Shame on Dodge for manufacturing this car with the bad oil pump. Any suggestions or advice will be received. What I need is for Dodge to "pony" up and buy me a new engine...WITHOUT ITS TERRIBLE AND DEFECTIVE OIL PUMP IT IS MANUFACTURING....and selling to me and other people. Shame on Dodge.
