I have dim dashboards lights and at times flickering headlights. I believe the root cause is the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) based on my research and auto knowledge. I want to get it re-flashed. I want to know how it can get done at home and what tools are needed.
I'm pretty sure this is a common problem among Dodge Charger owners. Back to the issue at hand, my overall voltage of the car is low (around 2.81). This is because the alternator is not charging the way it should due to not communicating with the PCM This should be around 10 amps when un-fused using a multimeter. I checked all the fuses and all seem to be okay, except the ones that controls the climate, radio and cluster which I alluded to on the dim dashboard lights. I had my mechanics check for any broken wires and none were found. I don't really know how to specifically check for short circuit except doing the multimeter un-fused check. I don't know how to check for continuity, but I'm a very fast learner. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks everyone in advance.
