It is so ridiculous the issues I have had with my car! We made our extended warranty by a couple weeks. We have taken the best care possible with my car since we purchased it! Front suspension got so bad the noise was annoying and loud! After 10 days at a dealership it really doesn't sound much better! Chrysler took 2 days getting out there to " make sure it really needed to be fixed", we bought an extended warranty through Chrysler, thank goodness! I love my car but with 58,000 miles on it I felt I would have NEVER needed to use it but have had to use several times!!!! Really not fair to spend 35,000 on a vehicle and have fear of what will happen next. Our warranty expires May 3 2014. Wondering if we should trade it but really don't want a car payment again!!!

Charger R/T 5.7L V8 Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

This was the first time I replaced the tie rods on my 2006 Charger. Since I have owned this car (May 2009) I have replaced the outers 5 times and the inners 3. The vehicle has ALWAYS had a shake in the front end, even after replacing the tie rods. From what I understand, this is due to the Hemi engine being too heavy for the frame, which in my opinion should be either warrantied or recalled. I now have over 90K miles on my Charger, just replaced the outers for the 5th time and have to take it back in because it shakes so badly. Each time I do the outers it costs about $400, to do inners and outers costs about $700. This is the single largest expense other than payments and fuel that I have incurred with this vehicle. Chrysler Corporation needs to man up and take some responsibility for their inferior product.

Charger RT 4.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,164 miles

My 2006 Charger RT was pulling to the left. I took it in to the dealership to have an alignment and they told me that both tie rods on each front wheel were bad and needed replacing. I thought it was strange that my car which I baby had bad tie rods after only 50,000 miles. The mechanic said it was a pretty common problem for the Chargers, Magnums, and 300's and that he had to replace the same thing on his Charger at 43,000 miles. I asked if Chrysler had come out with any kind of recall on the cars if this was an on going issue and he said so far no. I think Chrysler should be held accountable for this, it's not like it's the control knob for your stereo for God's sake tie rods are a pretty important part of your car and this should be a safety issue.

Man I thought DODGE'S ARE RAM TOUGH!!!! Obviously I was wrong. The tension link, torsion bar and all the other little parts that look like socket wrenches which make up the rear suspension are made of an alluminum alloy, or something even more inferior! I know bc while in reverse i hit a street lamp not even moving at 10mph. this mishap pushed my wheel forward about 6in. and tilted it up I drove up onto a sidewalk via a driveway. Dodge said 6000 dollars minus 1800 dollars for labor! I had a mechanic look up the part that was the most bent, he told me not only was the part back ordered 30 days but Nationally back ordered!!! Why? Not enough spare parts made OR were there other Daytona/Superbee/RT? owners out there who encountered similar mishaps? You can tell its an alloy because there is a color change where the bend in the metal is. AND why was the 2009 suspension system changed to all stainless steel? These parts are not on all charger models as far as I know, there were only a few of the models made mine- 3851-4000. I've been tempted on many occ to pursue chrystler/daimler to FIX this otherwise unsafe problem. Has anyone experienced or heard of anything similar? as a result I had to sell my car for way less than KBB value.

Charger Daytona 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,253 miles

I purchased a gold plan when I pickup my 06 Daytona. I had the same problem, loose front end and poor driveability. It was making squeeks and noises over all road surfaces. I was able to have the complete front end fixed under warranty. Dealer replaced both front tie-rod ends bushings and other suspension components. I just had to pay for an alignment after the work was done. Cost for the Dealer was around $850 CAD. If I would have had to repair it my self I would have been looking at $1200 - $1300 out of pocket. Always buy an extended warranty if you plan to keep the car. Remember contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder. And the north American car manufactures are only concerned that their product lasts up to the 3 year/60,000K mark!
