- Dropped Valve Seat Issue - Seems many of the symptoms and problems in these comments are associated to dropped valve seats. Looks like it was/is a very common issue on the 5.7l Hemi design. LXFORUMS, as seen in the search results, has many of users with the same issues. There you can find valuable tips and even some answers to your issues. I own a 6.1 Charger myself and and these engines do indeed put out a lot of heat which seems to cause issues more-so on the 5.7 design. Regards and luck to all

The car had run really well and then one day I stopped by a friends home and when I went to leave the engine did not want to start and when it did start it sounded like a diesel engine and would not stay running. I had to have the car towed home and then towed to a shop. The mechanic has told me that the #1cylinder has a broken piston or valve and that the engine needs to be replaced. The repair will cost over $6,000.00. I have found that this is a very common issue Dodge should pay for this repair as this is putting me in extreme financial hardship as I am disabled with no income at this time. Dodge knows that this problem exists and has done nothing I may well lose my car because of this. Thank you dodge
Update from Aug 31, 2014: Well now my car has a new engine and all I have to do now is come up with about $6,500.00 to pay the shop and I'll able to drive!!!!! Crysler should be covering this expence!!!!!
