I was picking my children up from daycare one day. I parked in the driveway of the daycare and ran in to get my children. I put the kids in the car and tried to start the vehicle. The vehicle would not start. after trying a few times, the vehicle began to start, but started to make a loud clinking noise. I had the car towed to the shop. they immediately recognized the problem to be the rod in the engine. They stated they were going to have to replace the engine. I know a little about cars and suspected that the noise meant I was going to have to rebuild or replace my engine. The shop proceeded to show me a few other Dodges and Chrysler's in their shop that were having the same problem. Wow... Never again. After viewing this site, I would have never bought this car based on how many other people were having this same problem.

Charger SE 3.5L V6

I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW AND HAD SOME PROBLEMS, BUT THEY WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IN AUGUST MY CAR BEGIN TO CLICK, TAP AND IT STARTED GETTING LOUDER, TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME WE NEEDED A ENGINE. I DON'T DRIVE THE CAR NOW DUE TO THE FACT THAT A MOTOR IS TOO EXPENSIVE!!!

THE CAR IS VERY NICE, BUT THE PROBLEM IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO FIX. I START THE CAR SO NOTHING ELSE WILL GO WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE HEADQUARTERS BEFORE AND ASKED THEM ABOUT ANY COMPLAINTS AND THEY TOLD ME NOT ANY BUT I COULD TAKE MY CAR TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND LET THEM LOOK AT IT AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. IT'S THEIR PRODUCT AND THEY DON'T WANT TO STAND BEHIND IT, NOT EVEN MEETING CUSTOMERS HALF WAY.

I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH A 2006 DODGE CHARGER AND THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO THEM AND THEIR CARS ARE IN YARDS JUST SITTING UP! SOMETIME I WONDER ABOUT DODGE PRODUCTS....I AM NOT VERY PLEASED WITH MINE!!!

Charger SRT8 6.1L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,000 miles

Changed the oil as recommended , used oil that was recommended. Lifter spring went bad that damaged lifter. Shot down through engine causing replacement. When they took the engine apart they said it was the cleanest engine that they had ever seen. Have not ran the heck out of car and have never gotten a speeding ticket with it. Cost us $10283.00 dollars for new engine.

Charger R/T 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

I have wanted a Dodge Charger since they came out in 2006. So I finally get the chance to own one. Took awhile to find the one that I wanted for the right price so in april I bought one. Everything was going great car was awsome ran great looked great. But on aug 7th everthing changed. Got in the car to go to the store for my wife. Store was about 4 miles from the house ran in came out started it up was setting there hanging a air fresher in the car and started hearing a loud knock and got louder. Then the lights came on on the dash. Tried to start it back and it started but was knocking so loud it shut back off. I was instantly sick. Call my mechanic friend and he came with his tow truck. took it back pulled the head off apparently the value set had came out and ate the piston, block, and head all to hell. Called the dealership they pretty much just said sorry but you are screwed.
