My 2011 Dodge Challenger has had window problems off/on for the past 2-3 years. The windows will act up, draining and killing the battery for a week, and then it will go away and not re-appear for another 6-8 months. Every time this issue occurs, the "smart" glass (it's more like dumb glass) will cycle up and down every 10-15 seconds and drain the car battery overnight. The only way to prevent this is to roll the window down so the switch isn't engaged. Either way it's a real pain in the ass, with windows cracked 24/7 or having the occasional dead battery.
I would have had this fixed a long time ago, but was quoted over $300 to have the darn smart glass switch replaced. What a ripoff for a defective item (as I've seen/heard countless other chally owners talk about this same issue).
Well, just today the windows reached a new level which compiled me to submit this review. While driving on an interstate highway to work, the driver window all of a sudden began cycling half way up/down non-stop and without any control. I could not get the window to stop cycling up and down, as it was completely out of my control and nothing I did would stop the window from doing whatever it wanted. This was a complete hazard while messing with the window, attempting to fix it, and being utterly distracted while driving on an interstate highway. Enough is enough, there needs to be something done about the smart glass switch and/or window glass problems in general.
