This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
We were on our way back from Tennessee, it was raining very hard, and the windshield wipers just stopped suddenly. I could hear a winning noise coming from them. We had to pull over to the side of a very busy highway and sit there because we could not see at all to drive. We were in a very dangerous situation so I called the jellico Tennessee police department and they were on their way to sit with us until the rain stopped and there was a bad wreck in front of us and they all had to go there. Fortunately, we were all ok and the wipers were fixed. There were no warning signs to let us know there was a problem with the wipers before hand.
