I bought this vehicle 2 months ago., already have problems with sway bar bushings., I already fixed at my expense.., the biggest concern is that the locks quit working., browsing on the net I found several complaints., I did already contact Dodge but they are doing nothing so far. This on my appreciation is a safety matter., since the doors can not be open with the remote., no even from inside using the buttons., the only door that has a key use for is the one for the driver., what can some one do is you have to get inside the car for any given urgency., but the only entry will be the driver's side"??" please refer to these sites for such complaints please help us thanks. www.carcomplaints.com/Dodge/Caravan/2005/electrical/index.shtml.
Constant issues with sway bar bushings & sway eliminator. Judging from the dealer service dept this is a common problem with these vehicles, the vehicle sounds like a jalopy the entire front end rattles and sounds completely unsafe. Not only has the sway bar & bushings been replaced twice in 4 months but the power steering rack was also replaced 4 months ago. This vehicle is only 3 yrs old and only has 27,000 miles!
Clunking noise over bumps. Dealer reports bad sway arm bushings, vehicle has 36 month 36000 miles bumper to bumper warranty. I am 7 weeks out of warranty and have 30,900 miles and dealer and Dodge refuse to cover.157.08 out of my pocket it is my understanding this is a common problem.
Defective sway bar at 28,000 miles-dealership stated it is normal with this year of Caravan & that I don't have to have replaced lights would not shut off or turn on with manual operation - when the vehicle is off for a long time the lights turn on for no reason at all. We have replaced the lightbulbs on 3 different occasions fuse keeps on blowing in engine at 32,000 miles, 34,000 miles and 39,050 miles. Electronic windows, door locks, automatic side door no longer operate at 41,000 miles. Excessive corrosion around battery every 4,000 miles paid to have cleaned 5 times and they say my battery is fine other than the corrosion build up.
Noticed clunking sound in front of 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with a whining sound. Contacted Chrysler reference # 15812736 after finding issue with power steering rack and sway bar. I believe this to be a manufacturer defect that could result in fatality due to steering defect. Dealer repaired defect at my cost. Total repair cost was $1394.43. The loss of my peace of mind was priceless.
