The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Caravan. He stated that the electric door locks stopped working without warning. The contact stated that he disconnected then reconnected the fuse and that temporarily solved the failure. As of May 13, 2008, the dealer had not inspected or repaired the vehicle. The failure mileage was 29,000 and current mileage was 30,000.

Vehicle's automatic door locks stop working. Worked fine until around 36,000 miles then stopped working. Can remove batter connection and reconnect after a few minutes and the locks will work without issue. Vehicle is suppose to lock doors at minimum speed and this feature does not work. Dealer says problem can be fixed with a software update but not covered under warranty. Problem seems to be a safety issue since vehicle was purchased with this safety feature in mind. After research found that this issue is occurring to many consumers of this type of vehicle. Could lead to injury for a child if the doors do not lock as expected.

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan's power locks stopped working. They do not lock when you reach 30 miles an hour. And the lock button does not work at all.

The power door locks do not function, have had this vehicle repaired per Dodge tsb 08-040-04 on two occasions. That works for two weeks. Was then told to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, and remove the BCM fuse, that also works for two weeks. The dealer recommended to replace the BCM, at my cost, but that will not fix the problem, as it has not fixed the issue on the other 2005's, per the service manager at another dealer. This is a safety issue, especially in a minivan with three children, and the power locks inoperable. It is imperative that Dodge steps up and fixes these vans, for safety's sake. It appears, though, that Dodge simply does not have a proper fix for this problem.

The automatic locks do not work on my recently purchased 2005 Dodge Caravan. The problem is, that there is no key option on the passenger side of the vehicle. The dealership has fixed it 3 times already since I purchased it and will not take the van back. The locks are an issue as I have three children, two in car seats and I am not able to access them from outside the vehicle. Horn beeps when you push the lock button on the auto key lock control so you assume the car is locked. After later inspection you realize that the locks didn't actually work. (I had an item stolen from my car last night when I was under the impression the locks had worked based on the horn sound).

My power locks have failed multiple times. I'd like to share a quick fix for other complainants. Open your hood and stand at the drivers side front fender. Remove the cover from the fuse box. Now remove the far bottom left 20 amp fuse for 10 seconds and put it back. It's easier than removing your battery cable.

I bought this vehicle 2 months ago., already have problems with sway bar bushings., I already fixed at my expense.., the biggest concern is that the locks quit working., browsing on the net I found several complaints., I did already contact Dodge but they are doing nothing so far. This on my appreciation is a safety matter., since the doors can not be open with the remote., no even from inside using the buttons., the only door that has a key use for is the one for the driver., what can some one do is you have to get inside the car for any given urgency., but the only entry will be the driver's side"??" please refer to these sites for such complaints please help us thanks. www.carcomplaints.com/Dodge/Caravan/2005/electrical/index.shtml.

www.carcomplaints.com/Dodge/Caravan/2005/electrical/power_door_locks_quit_working.shtml my power door locks quit working at 40K miles on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan similar to these other people. Dodge has not acknowledged this problem and it is creating an unsafe condition for my wife and children.

Door locks do not automatically work. I do not like this because the door used to lock as soon as I started driving and so I didn't have to worry about it being unlocked and now I forget to lock it. It is very unsafe in this world we live in.

I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. The power door lock stop working when the wireless remote is press it will not lock the doors. If I disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and leave it disconnected for 5 minutes it will work again. I have to do this every other day. I hear same people having this problem have taking the car back to the dealer and the dealer have charge $130 to reprogram the BCM. If so many people in the internet are having the same problem the dealer should not be charging this crazy amount since is problem with the software in the BCM.

2005 Dodge Caravan. The consumer states the side door on the driver side comes open while driving. The vehicle has not been looked at yet. There has not been a determination as to why this is happening. Dodge told the consumer to take the vehicle to the dealership. This only happened once, he has bungee cordes and door cannot happen again. There were no indicator lights that the door was open.
